Yeah we tried changing my fuel filter a couple months ago and had the same issue. Ended up just returning it lol. Someone else said their mechanic took 2 days to change it and had to by some tool he didn't have to get it loose I think.

That was me. The factory goop was basically welded on and the threads were unusable on a new filter. After bathing in an endless stream of gas for 6 hours (my fuel gauge was reading low ... I thought I had only 1-2 ga in the tank but actually had 5-6!), my skin was blistered for weeks... The mechanic had to use a couple different flanging tools to splice in a new fuel line with a usable coupling.

Some time later, he tried removing the coupling in the engine bay to tee in a fuel pressure gauge, and after working the thing back and forth repeatedly to break it loose, snapped his wrench in half. Toyota really dropped the ball on the long-term impact of whatever they used to seal those threads.

^^^ haha. I had the same problem when I first bought my car. I used vise grips and it worked like a charm. luckily I could still get the wrench on after the vise grips.
anyways I removed about 95% of all the wires that go to the abs including module. From front of car to back. ran into some minor problems so I barely got done from 10 am to 2 am. but that's also cause I had to go to the chiropractor and other errands. i'll take pics tomorrow.

Tried ot get my steering wheel on-center all weekend. No-go. Just a lil off to the right and the next adjustment knocks it out of whack entirely. Should have straignted it out the best I could BEFORE a tire change and alignment. She's due for some coils and new LCAs anyway. I'll just deal until the the spring

I cussed at mine today. Currently taking a break from trying to remove the damn transmission pan so I can put a new filter on it and see if that solves my trans problem before I shell out money to get another transmission.

Car started finally today after almost a week. We were checking voltage to different grounds and connectors on the battery. Then when we were checking the ground connected to the top of the fire wall, it tried to start, then tried again and held it for a bit and it started... Is it even possible to "jump" it, in a sense, like that? Think it may be something with that ground but I can't find anything on that. We'll see.
