New to SC cars, and toyota in general, but got these stock tail lights
That said, they didn't quite seem right... do i have a different generation of SC lights here? And help would be amazing.

There are 3 types of stock SC lights.
92-94 tails, which are the ones on your car currently.
95-96 tails, which look like this
And 97+ (97-2000) which look like this.
It's all up to preference, however when swapping the tails from a 97+ to 92-94 there will be a fast-blink on the turn signals and a "bulb failure" light on the dash. I think it also happens on the 95-96 but there is an easier fix for the fast blink I think on those cars, I don't really know since mine is a 92.

Got my free Shoshinsha Wakaba beginner new driver super JDM smelly thing installed. I should actually get the elderly orange/yellow Koleshiya version since I drive pretty slow everywhere..
Edit: Not sure why its sideways, Onedrive doesnt let me change it

I've had a vertex lip on since I bought it from the PO. First one lasted me a year, second one lasted me less. Third one lasted all of 5 weeks.
Never had one fall off though until this one. If anything I'd be more inclined to believe it fell off from user error, improper mounting, or hitting something. I doubt it's a widespread problem, but either way, it's time for me to go with an AC Shine front lip... maybe the whole kit, but my sides and rear look great and are freshly painted, so I guess it depends on what I find and for what price.

Just got it off the jack stands, new trans and motor mounts, stock, the road noise is much better, and gave it and me our first triple digit test, pretty smooth, did I mention I just got it 2 weeks ago, a 97sc400 with 72K, bone stock-for now.

Thanks for the clarification, glad i got rid of those things too... not only did they not look very good, they were hard to see.
Went to the local Pick Your Part and found some stuff, so more updates to the SC today:
- clean HVAC display (mine had that awful digital black smear on it)
- rear parcel shelf with sub cover (car didn't come with one).. not complete, and needs to be recovered, but it's a start
- cup holder with a working lid
- passenger side front speaker cover
not bad for a car that's very rarely in the local junk yards

Do you think it's related?

Glad you liked that ;-)
Only day 1 of owning the car so I'll avoide the big sticky issues as long as I can....
However by following the diy with 2 washers on a 15min smoak brake at work I was able to fix the electric tilt for the steering wheel.... I'll take that big of a win any day!
