The main thing in the sc I think that weighs alot are the door. Compare your hinges to any other car and feel how heavy it is to open. Also all that leather in the interior is crazy heavy. A leather jacket feels extremely heavy. How about a whole interior? If you want your sc to be under 3000 lbs, your going to have to sacrifice alot of comfort and extras that lexus put into it.

If mine were a track car, of course. But I actually drive mine and I dont mind the weight. lol

The hood, doors and trunk would all need to be one of the first things to go CF on my car if I wanted to loose weight. The hood alone weighs probably as much as I do. Dont bother throwing out your rear seats if you want to keep the luxury. They weigh close to nothing...but definitely toss the front seats and get something super light and aggressive! Im rocking a friends 99 Celica seats right now that he modded and they are a world of difference in weight compared to the stock seats. Also if you dont DD your car take out the spare tire, that weighs about 50-60 lbs.

Pics of the seats?? Normal wear and tear have started to creep up on my seats finally and I'm not sure I want to go the racing seat route. I heard Camry seats might fit as well.

Wow, better than I expected. Did they come in tan? Did it take much modding to get them to bolt up? I know, lots of questions, I should probably use search.

well 3100 lbs should be attainable. I was reading earlier on lextreme.com about a guy who has his SC400 down to 3100lbs. But that's unconfirmed. And he was pulling out more than I'd like. But was still rockin the automatic and supra tt brakes as opposed to ls400 brakes and also 19" rims. So there's some comprimising there. Hmmm. Now I'm even more determined to make this happen.

ls400 brakes weigh less. there is a post with the weights somewhere
fiberglass fenders would weigh more than factory id bet
fiberglass bumpers would wiegh more than factory id bet
fuel cell/mounting brackets for it would weigh more id bet

As mentioned before, LS400 calipers weigh less than stock, but the rotors are heavier.

Compared to the weight of a similar sized new vehicle these days, I find it quite amazing how light our SC's are considering the quality of construction.

Aren't the carbon fiber doors like $3,000? Buy the time you buy all of that stuff, you could've bought a lighter car.

Not sure if you will find it "worth" it but the CF hood will be OBVIOUSLY lighter then the very heavy, huge OEM hood.
