Its behind the rear seat. You must remove both the lower seat section and back section. You will see an 8'' cutout with (IIRC) 8-10mm bolts. simply remove those, and you will see the access panel to the tank...BUT, before you do that, use the forums search function for "12v fuel mod", and you may beable to fix the problem for free by simply doing the 12v bypass mod.

i have done the bypass and ok sweet deals on the 255!!

also i just looked and looks like the fuel pump is in the trunk behind all the covering on the tank... am i wrong? i disconnected the plug and the fuel pump turned off so i am assuming thats the fuel pump just like a 240 or something...

Just as Turbodremz stated, the fuel pump is "Absolutely, 100% located in the tank, behind the rear seat. If you wish to remove the pump, you must remove the complete back seat (upper and lower), and access the circular panel to get to it. The stock pump is attached to the stock hanger, and resides within the slosh tank inside of the fuel tank. You can strap a Walbro 255 onto the hanger. Be sure to disconnect power before attempting this.

That would be the fuel level gauge under that cover. And the one on top is the vent line. Yes one of the plugs does control weather the pump comes on or not. I dont know if that is the main power for the pump or not but do know the pump doesnt work if its not plugged in.That is the one thing Ive never replaced on any of my SC's "fuel pump". Probably just called the "witch doctor" a mother******.

that bypass ECU might cause of fuel pump failure. it keep running the fuel pump even if the engine is off..

Take your rear seat out, replace the pump. Seriously, it's that easy.

Im telling you from over 2yrs of having this mod with a Walbro 255, not one problem..not to mention all the other members with the 12v mod that will also tell you otherwise...just cause one person had a problem, dosent mean jack except something went wrong with his car.
