SC300 vs. Z4M
There's a guy I work with that has a 08 Z4M. I asked if he wanted to race just in fun and he said he would run. We are scheduled to go to the track next friday. My car has the 1JZ 5spd swap with FMIC and 3" exhaust on it. His car is stock. Just askin if anyone has raced one before and to get any opinions on who you think will win. The track is 1/8th mile and both cars are manual. It should be pretty close IMO. Let the talking begin. Will video the race and post the vid.

If he has the SMG or whatever paddle shifting transmission I think he'll walk you. All these new cars have launch control and transmissions that shift faster than you can shift manually. The power is going to be similar and I thnk the Z4 weighs less. You're toast.

Power to weight ratio is better in z4. Also it has 333hp. Smgs are overrated, you can launch better than any launch control if you know how to drive. Only double clutch transmission is better than manual. Smg is not double clutch.

Check this out:
BMW Z4 M
1/8 Mile ET: 8.605
1/8 Mile MPH: 83.360
0-60 Foot ET: 1.996
http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-Z4-M-Co...lip-14802.html
Compared to your best:
1/8 MILE ET 8.75 @ 82 MPH!
What was your 60ft time?
So this Z4 has the potential to beat you, yes...
I assume this run I posted above took them a few passes to perfect, so you might be pretty even actually with a "regular driver" behind the wheel. I would definitely suggest removing weight from your car before this race, it looks like it will be very close if you do.

ok guys got an update. the Z4M has a regular 6 spd manual and he has never raced at a dragstrip at all before. So it should take a few passes but it should be a good race. I seen that dragtimes posting too and it should be great. My best pass 60' time was a 2.10. My R/T is normally .05-.11 with the lexus. The car will be on NT555R Drag radials with no LSD
