Cassette won't eject/stuck?

well, when the CD changer won't play or eject, then resort to playing tapes.....
now considering getting an iPod integration unit...
and researching posts for how to remove radio and dash.
seems like the changers keep breaking down
would like to retrieve CDs out of changer, too.....
********************
update - today wife says tape player not working
so down to FM radio for sounds........
situation now critical - LOL

Just had this happen in my 98 sc300. Tape adapter I'd been using for 6 months got stuck, unlike others my radio then showed NO signs of life. Would go to zero modes, would not turn on, holding any buttons or any combination of buttons did not bring it back to life nor eject the tape. Even with the key out of the ignition, the tape deck kept playing, clicking, rolling rewinding...
Disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery for about a minute and then reconnecting it caused the deck to thankfully spit out the adapter.
The tape adapter got quite chewed up, I'll try and post pics later.
If I knew stereos I'd throw down on some aftermarket deck, but I don't know crap about installing them.

2000 sc300 stereo and cd changer
I have a sony cassette adapter I use on my 92 SC for my ipod. One day it just started flipping sides while I was playing my ipod, and then, stopped playing completely. If I switch the deck to tape, it shows the tape playing, but then keeps playing, flipping sides crazy for about 5 seconds, then automatically switches to the radio. The cassette, now, will also not eject. It's just stuck in there and won't play. Any help or known fixes? I don't want to buy a new deck because of this...
i went with a pioneer double din,, i have my old radio in perfect working condition,, of a 2000 sc300
i also have the cd changer also perfect working condition
I'm giving it away for free to anybody who needs it
