Default Ebay clear lense retrofit with Morimoto Mini Projectors

**I understand that this is a Lighting related thread but I believe this is a SC specific discussion so I'm posting here. Mods, please feel free to move it otherwise.**

My headlights are yellowing and they're making SC look dated. So I've decided to order clear lens headlights off of eBay to update the look. And while I was at it, I've also ordered a set of Morimoto Mini projectors from retrofitsource.com to retain function with form. Morimoto Mini has the same clear projector lens FX-R uses which I had a great experience with on my Gixxer but with a smaller footprint and a lower price tag.

These are the progress I've made so far.

I'm half way done with retrofit but here's the dilemma. (Please ignore green tone of the pic.)

Because I'm using chrome headlight housing, light is reflected off of the flat section in front of projector to form an X above cut-off line. This is a problem because I don't want to blind oncoming traffic.

Has anyone else come across a problem like this? And if so, how did you solve it? I'm contemplating on painting the chrome to black/gunmetal and keeping projector shrouds in chrome to eliminate that X figure.

here the whole problem with ebay lighting:

they did not use a device to adjust the lighting so you dont blind oncomming traffic. i had both sets crome and black ad i stuck with the black because the chrome was a mirrior for the light to manuvor all sorts fo dirrections. i would paint the housing flat black like he said

not to sound ghetto but u can cover up the 3 leds buy using some 3m foam board paint that as well u wont notice the difference.

if you want clear lenses, put them on the stock headlight housings, then do the retrofit...all in all, the ebay headlights fail in more ways than one..only good thing on them is the lens

Supposedly you can still get the clear lenses (Bright-X which is the same as SuperMade) by going to Nengun.com and doing their Yahoo Japan Auctions system. I don't know how that works on their site... I heard the Ebay lenses don't fit correctly on the OEM housing, and have to be cut around the sealing edge btw...

I'm wondering if the stock middle inner housing can just be sandwiched between the Ebay clear lense and the Ebay rear backing section?

How is the fit between ebay lens and stock housing? you painted the turn signal black? how does that affect it's light output when signaling? I'm going to be doing this mod this weekend
