Hi I have been looking for an sc300 for about a month and half now, and nothing has really caught my eye. My plan was to buy a 95 and up Sc300, mod the the suspension and wheels right away, then eventually go boost a year or so down the road (really want to do an 2jzgte engine swap), hence the year or two so I can save up. But I can not seem to find my sc300, most of the ones selling near me are beatup, mileage is too high or way out of my price range(mostly stealerships)

But I recently found a 1999 Sc400 that seems to be in good condition and has around the miles I am looking for and the color I want. Pretty much is what I have been looking for but it is a sc400 ahaha.

Should I give up on my sc300 hopes and jump on an sc400. Thanks in advance for the advice and opinions.

I would kill for a 1998-2000 sc400.. get it! and this is from someone who went threw 3 sc300...

I say do it, you can do all the same cosmetic mods to the 400 as the 300. Eninge wise you'll have a bullet-proof beast. Plenty of power for a nice DD.
I just put my '99 up for sale, and I'm worried I'm gonna regret it. Hands down the best car I've owned.

I love my 98 SC400 (430 now) lol. I say do it too. not very many 98-00 400's out there. There is alot more 300's of all years. buy the 400 if you dont like it someone else will want it. sell it & buy the 300.

damn i wish i could afford a 99 sc400... i just bought a 95 and i'm lovin it. i'm doing all the exterior mods to make it look like a new one bc it's just much sleeker.

hey bro its all up to you. 400 are great but always something to be said about the 2jz. I drive a 97 300 and wouldn't trade it for the world. So many options. Good luck with whatever you decide and post some pics with what you get.

For the guys who said do it and especially the ones that have sc300 can you tell me why you think so?

I mean I have been looking for an sc300 for awhile and was dead set on only an sc300, but now since I can't find one I am looking at other options. Can you guys tell me a little more about the 400 in general and the pros of it over a 300. Come try to sway me hahaha

Well, sc400 you have vvti v8 gated shifter and 3 point steering wheel and DRL. If you truly plan on boosting or swapping a motor get 95-96 sc300. But if your going to DD and do some basic modding go with the 1998 sc400.

for the same price as a swap you could supercharge the engine

Is there anything (problematic wise) or red flags I should look for when looking at an sc400. Are there any certain questions I should ask?

Same exact stuff as a 300, I can't think of any differing problems off the top of my head..

If it's the white 99 on craigslist then yes do it. Beautiful car. Also doesn't have the **** brown and tan interior, it's a nice black and tan.

if you are getting sc400 get 98+ ones...
