what year is your sc. You can only clean a hot wire maf. I learned the hard way and damaged my maf. I had to by a new one.

I believe 96 and up are hot wire that can be cleaned. The others are karmon vortex and should not be cleaned with maf cleaner. They say electrical cleaner works, or alcohol gently, or compressed air. Honestly no one really documented this, so I wouldnt try. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

I cleaned my 95 with no issues.....I guess mine was dirty because it made a difference..

trick is to wait 24 hours after cleaning to let it dry completely...

^same^ I blasted mine with MAF cleaner, but then again, I left it out to dry for another 3 days after that because I had been taking apart my whole intake system.

Soulific is 100% right on this. Look at the can of maf cleaner. It says for hotwire maf sensors only. I have a 96+ hotwire maf, sprayed it, let it dry for about 5 minutes and started it. Made a difference for me because the cleaner was intended for my style maf.

Your 92 sc300 should have a Karman AFM (air flow meter) so cleaning it would not be wise.

+1 You do not have a hot-wire type MAF sensor. Cleaning it will cause you almost 800 bucks for a new one.
