Lowering oem seats?
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the powered Lexus SC300 seats lower than stock height? If I could lower them 1-2 inches, it would be perfect for me since the seats don't adjust low enough for me in stock form.

depending on how and why you drive the car mkiv seats might not be the best option. I LOVE the seats in both the sc and the mkiv for their own specific driving styles- I wouldn't want SC seats in the supra and vice versa. The SC is a great crusing seat and is super comfortable. I haven't removed my SC seats, but from messing around with them a little bit it does't look like there's too much room to drop them. When they're in the lowest position there's little room between the bottom of the seat and the floor board

I have also wondered if one could lower the stock seats. Thus, I took the seat covers off to look at the foam and the springs underneath. I think that there would be two ways to add some extra height. First, the foam that is directly below your backside is about two inches thick. One could simply cut out about half thickness all the way across and then reinstall everything back the way it was. This would theroetically give you about an extra inch (give or take). Second, underneath the foam, your backside rest on a seperate piece of metal that is suspended on each corner by a spring that attaches to the rest of the seat. One could possibly use somewhat longer springs which would also drop the seat height some. I am going to attempt one or both of these things this weekend. I will post up some pictures of my progress and let you know my results.
Thanks,
Luis

You guys with Supra seats in your SC's, do the seatbelt latch (female ends) from the Supra seats work on the SC buckles? My car came with mkiv seats but no latches. I need to get some to pass inspection.
Thanks
