97's came with trac control but its located by the shifter and seat warmers if u got those. If its not there then no trac. Dont worry trac control is for non drivers!
I have a 99 sc300 and its not on the shifter near the warmers. Mine is down where the trunk and gas door buttonsn are. Not saying you guys are wrong because on my 93 thats where it was, near the shifter. Im just pointing out that its different on my new one but i cant tell you when it changed positions.
Trac control or not, it all depends where the car was originally purchased. Ex. if car brought in Florida, there no trac control because it is not needed in that state.
I know my 98 SC300 has it only its a longish switch down on the lower left side of the dash. You cant see it because its kinda under the steering wheel and to the left. above the trunk and gas lid release. Also, when you are turning on your car you should see the Trac-control light...It will flash when it is being used. I tested it out the other day while I attemped to fishtail on a rainy day...IT just flashes on and off intermittenly.
The 97 SC300 should have it.
my 97 sc300 has it, it's the button above the shifter to the right, the seat warmers are both on the upper left side, and ect power is on the bottom left

i have a 98 sc300 and it has traction control. (it sounds silly) but it wont let me do a burn out. i will push the brake pedal to the floor and press the gas and the tires start to spin but then the TC light comes on in the dash and the rpm's go back down and the tires stop spinning. how do i override TC all together?
Trac control was actually an option on SC's like alot of other features. If you had the winter package, than the car came equipped with TRAC and heated seats. otherwise it didnt have it. All SC's came with an option for trac i believe even till 2000
yeah i have heated seats and theres a snow trac option on the button but even if i turn it off all together the light still comes on when i break the traction on my wheels and it corrects the slide
I have a '97 SC400 with no Trac but it seems like it has Trac. I checked and no Trac switch and no Trac relay but when I drive and I floor it it seems like trac kicks in because it wont let the rear wheels spin. It feels just like my old LS400 when the track kicked in. Any ideas what is causing that or are the SC400's just slow and can't spin the wheels?
