Default How much faster do tires wear out with aggressive set ups?

Like say an 18"x9.5" wide rim on 245/40 or 235. I keep getting hassled by someone telling me that they wear out super fast.

From your experiences, how much faster have your tires worn out? What setup do you guys have?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the car would be lowered on an 18/10 KG spring rate. Not too low, but enough.

The thing here is:

18" x 9.5" + 15 (maybe)
245/40 Bridgestone Potenza Sports
Stance Coilovers (18/10 KG)

whats the offset. how low is your car. if you have to have a bunch of negative camber to get them to fit then yes they will wear out super fast.

That size is fine... doesn't affect tire wear, it depends on your camber. Also if the toe is right and the car's alignment comes in play. Camber kits are something to look into if you need it

You definitely aren't going to get the full life out of the tire, but who does anyways. Camber isn't really going to be the issue as you said you aren't going to be too low. I would flip your tires ever 5k miles to try to get some even wear on both sides. Your biggest concern is going to be your toe. That **** will eat away your tires so quick. Just make sure to get an alignment. With that said im running a 235/35/19 with -2.2 degree's of camber and have gotten over 20k miles on my tires with still plenty of tread left.

yes, finally. some good info being passed around. also, if you cant keep up with getting new tires often, then going aggressive isn't for you.

front 225/40/18 2* camber - bridgestone potenzas - seems to be about 7k miles and about 50-60% life left on them...

rear 255/40/18 2.6* camber - bridgestone potenzas I killed off in 6 months, probably doesn't help at all when I wheel spin all the damn time haha.

I daily my car. 18x8.5/10.5

Just don't run camber, and make sure your toe is good. I have -6 degrees of camber, and I daily my car. My toe was waaay bad on my last set of tires, and I haven't ben running my setup long enough to see how long tires will last me. Goodluck.

If you use a harder tire.. like 380-400+ tread wear.
youll get more actual tire life
I got a full year out of my 400 tread wear on the rear.. with rotation of course
only got 8 months on the front with rotation. it was a 280 treadwear

my .02
