User error, the hood pins should of held the hood down regardless. The separation from the outer layer from the main mold on the other hand is a testament of the quality of VIS parts.

so hood pins would have solved the lack of glue holding the top layer to the bottom sweet.. yeah for some reason i dont buy that.

only thing hood pins would have done is held the lose top layer onto the lose bottom layer... either way i still would have had a messed up hood.

Well if you had hood pins like every company suggestsit wouldnt have blew off.
That is a good lesson for you to learn on using knock off quality parts.

And yes, I'd laugh if it happened to me, too!
Good luck in your quest for another, dude.

did you know the hood was lighter right, and when bought they say you need hood pins, bc the hood was light and could blow off

Guess i just figured out what brand CF hood i'll be using. Even without hood pins, it should not have separated like that.

wowz, it appears to only be glued at the very edges.
lemme guess the glue adds weight so actually its super-performance if you think about it..
Maybe it didn't fly off your car... its just so super-performance your car just couldn't keep up with the hood

From what I know, all CF hood manufacturers strongly recommend using the hood pins. I spoke to a Seibon rep and he said the same. If you look at the left corner underneath the VIS hood, there's a little sticker saying "recommend using hood pins for safety".

Wow that's crazy. I never seen that. I guess I won't reccommend VIS hoods to anyone. Even if you had hood pins, that doesn't change the fact that it separated. Poor quality control in my opinion.
