OP, don't mind some of the more, unhelpful advice here, people have done the Home Depot lip before, and it's come out just FINE. Many folks here have done ghetto mods to their cars which by far are much worse than a simple little lip mod. Go for it man, just don't half *** it and I bet it'll come out just fine .

You're right.. it does not exist. But there is a DIY available to fit a 92-96 OEM lip on the 97-00 bumper.

Ok, I think it was a success for how it turned out. Im not fully done yet. I still need to touch up more, and sand. I could even paint this thing to match my car if I wanted. I don't think I will though, I don't feel like paying $50 to $100 to colormatch a $25 lip. I may just put some plastic adhesion promoter, put some primer, sand, paint the thing black, clear , then buff.

The quality of the lip is good. The lip is strong and feels like a actual lip. not garage door rubber, or flimsy garden stuff. the installation is legit also. I was suprised how it turned out. It took 3-4 hours cause I took my time and had breaks in between.

I used diamond lok from home depot. Its made of some type of plastic/pvc/rubber. It felt somewhat like abs plastic but a bit more flexible. I bought 2 strips for about $16 bucks. I mounted it to the bumper by using 3 different strips of diamond lok trimmed accordingly. The middle piece went on first. I need to draw diagrams to explain how I mounted it....lol The middle was mounted one direction, while the sides were flipped. I screwed it on with self tap metal screws.

I then joined the 3 pieces together. I used a scrap piece of diamond lok trimmed. I used 2 screws for each side. The screws were counter sunk to be filled later.

To fill, I used a scrap piece of dimaond lok and a soldering iron. I basically used the iron and scrap to weld the seam. I then used a dremel to smooth it, and sanded it down. I didnt have the right grit so stopped before it was perfect, but it still looks legit.

I didnt have my camera, just had the camera on my blackberry. Ill try to take some more shots in the morning, here are the shots I was able to get.

got the supplies ready

measured and trimmed, ironically under the diamond lok is a full vertex replica kit I changed my mind about. I still haven't payed for it. My friend still has to pick it up and return it.

how it looks under

middle piece on, the side pieces about to be measured

connected pieces with scrap material in back, and screws countersunk

how it looked attached

full shot of progress

How it looked after i filled the seam/gap using a soldering iron

the label of my lip material

shot after sanding, looks 90 percent like a oem lip

angle

side

BAM!! total cost was $17 for diamond lok, $10 for a soldering iron, $6 self tap screws. total I spent was $33 bucks. Im gonna be running with this for a while. It doesn't look that far off from oem. People wont even be able to tell it was homedepot. Im not gonna lie, Ill tell people it's homedepot. The front of my sc now looks a bit more aggressive.
