Default Need Help.Problems with Sc400

hey guys just bought a 1997 Sc400. i just got the brake pads and all four rotors replaced as well as new sparkplugs and a new battery. but i think theres another problem but i cant figure it out. first one is that the heater doesnt work. the ac blows very cold but when i put the temperature up to HOT it stays cold. and second problem is that after driving the car for say 20 minutes or so, when i get out it has a really bad smell like something was burning, i looked under the hood but didnt see any smoke however at night when the headlights are on and i get out i see a little smoke but after opening the hood theres nothing. i appreciate it if someone can help me with the situation. thanks in advance. oh and heres a pic of my car

Make sure and check the radiator for leaks under pressure. If the coolant were low then the coolant level sensor should be on on instrument cluster.....

Id say its the radiator fluid a bit low. I have this problem to and im going to get to it this weekend. Was the car sitting for a while before you bought it? That could be the reason. OR, when installing your brakes and rotors, your calipers (one or more) could have seized and it WILL give off a scent. To see smoke from the headlights, is normal. Its most likely just dust your seeing.
