Does your overdrive display work on the dash? Does it light up on the cluster and say it's engaged or disengaged?

Well, only advice I have and save some money would be pull the pan on the transmission.. Change filter/screen, check fluid for any metal/chunks. If nothing there, take it in, get the transmission flushed OR get it serviced, unless you can do that yourself.. And the reason I asked if the light worked/didn't work, is if it stayed on or stayed off, it could have blown a fuse or the wiring could have been faulty, keeping it from shifting into o/d..

That sounds like a loose ground to me.. or loose wires in general. But hey, i'm just giving my two cents..

What did you have done? have you checked relays/fuses under the hood and in the fuse panel under the dash? Are all the other gears working and shifting smoothly?

Mine doesn't work after the usdm 2jzgte swap and I cruise around at 4000 rpm. Wish I knew how to get OD to work again

Let me chime in on my own O/D tranny problems....I'm almost certain that for me, it's a sensor going bad or maybe a loose wire or bad ground...The O/D off indicator light comes and goes as it pleases at random and has a distinct "Flash,pause,flash,pause,etc..." pattern...But the car shifts into overdrive just fine,There's a notable change in rpms when I switch the O/D button between on/off and the car shifts smoothly between gears and doesn't drive like crap. I will check the fluid levels and look for any loose wires in the immediate future.

Oh and for the record, You don't really have to drive with the O/D button turned on and engaged, The overdrive feature is essentially for fuel economy...Don't quote me on this next part but, But I believe you can drive "faster" with the O/D turned off...try that with the "ETC PWR" button to boot with it.

Well the ECT button is basically just for shifting times.. Lengthens the gears.. "Electronic Controlled Transmission".. So, if your boosting I could understand the need for the longer rpm, but idk about the stock engine.. The factory essentially made it shift to stay in it power band. Keeping O/D off, I have never noticed a difference in speed, but will make 3rd gear stay engaged longer. So, Idk LoL
