Default Quick Pic of the Rims on my SC300

So after cutting my front fenders to get the rims and tire set up to fit I thought I was done.........Nope the dreaded Wireharness issue

So I ended up taking some thin aluminum and cut it to the shape of the plastic harness cover and taped like a madman to get it finished by night. I will have to reroute it soon but this at least got me home So far so good.

Ill get better photos once the car is clean.

Specs:
MSR 088
Fronts: 19x8.5 24 Offset
Rears: 19x10 40 offset

Tires:
Bridgestone Potenza RE050
Fronts: 245/40/19
Rears: 245/40/19

Im going to change the fronts to a 35 series tires to get a better fit, dont like the 40s all that much

let me know what you think

IMO, the wheels just look way to big for the car. if they were smaller it would look good.

I think it's because the car sits too high for being on 19's with a stock body. Mine doesn't look like that =P

EDIT: Yeah, 40-series are too thick too

Yeah I agree. I will be getting some 245/35/19 tires for the front. I dont mind the backs at all. I think there perfect for chicago streets. Ihave about a two finger gap that can be lowered in the rear but Im waiting to get my fenders rolled. I have a local guys that charges cheap to do them so once thats done then the car will go lower.

The front was lower I had to raise it an inch to get to fit. Once I ge tires the front will go back down any inch and it should look much better. Next up will be a 97 sides and rear and some sort of lip in the front.

Heres another pic. Ill post a couple of better pics in a sec

Dude you're gonna have that FWD drag look with 245's all around, especially since your front wheels are 1.5" narrower - meaning, front tire will look bigger. Might wanna consider a 225/35 or 215/35 to match the rears

you think so??? maybe I should then. I search and I came up with 245's on the fronts. I dont like the look of them so 225 might be the better option. I dont know. But Ive seen 245's on some of these cars but then again Im not so sure what there widths were.

So 225's would be your suggestion?

Well as an example/comparison right now I'm running a 235 on my fronts, but my fronts are 19x9.5... compared to your idea, a 245 (wider tire) on an 8.5 (narrower wheel) would make the front tire chunky - which is total opposite of your current 245/40 on a 10" wide wheel, which is stretched. If you have a taller sidewall up front it looks like your front wheel is bigger on the car... same with offset - wheels with the face closer to the outside look bigger than wheels with a deep face.

On my old wheels I used to run 225/35 19x8.5 / 265/30 19x10.5 and it matched up good, sidewall height was almost equal (off by like a few mm).

so quick question, do you think it would be worth it to pick up a set of 245/35/19 for the time being? It wont be stretched but do you think it would even make a bit of difference? I can get them supper cheap.....like 50 bucks cheap with about 85% thread left.

EDIT: I will eventually get the 225/35 that now makes total sense. I must of been looking at wheels that were 9.5 wide not 8.5.

I'd say just save up and go 35's all around, especially with 19's. Remember we're rocking RWD cars, I'd suggest a few combos, say 225/35 + 265/30, or 215/35 + 255/30. Put some meat in the back where it belongs =)

I agree, nothing sexier than driving behind a SC with wide tires in the rear

yeah the only reason I bought these tires was they were cheap and summer in chicago is almost done. So i will be getting a new set over the winter. I like the 225/35 + 265/30 combo. I think that is the way to go.
