2 months ago I went and took a look at one that popped up on craigslist here in Chicago.
VIN JT8CD32Z8V0037639
Red / Ivory 5spd with a factory gold package
Rebuilt title, 3 owners
Car was originally a California car that at just under 70k was hit badly in the rear. Rear quarter was cut out and replaced. Rear frame was twisted a bit but only after the rear subframe so the alignment looked good. However the car had some electrical gremlins in the rear and I passed on it. 2 weeks later it disappeared from craigslist.

I hope the OP doesn't mind us updating the list of owners for the 120 SC300 5 speed made in 1997 that are still in good condition and can be registered meaning are not scrapped due total loss accidents.

Post the Production Number, Month of Manufacture and last 7 digits of your car's VIN . Those data will fall into and can be verified against the Lexus SC Worldwide Production Table. Check the VIN tag on the driver door and it's all there . I will suggest NOT to post the whole VIN number anymore because someone who has access to key makers at the dealerships can cut a key and if they know where your car is, it can eventually be stolen..

Let's keep this list updated regularly. If the OP wants to take the list from here , please do so otherwise I can keep it updated until I am a proud of owner of such a car. After 18 years since last produced I really wonder how many of the 120 are still on the road. That figure would probably eventually affect the value of these cars being rare. Probably a lot are gone and am sure many owners are not even CL members. I have written the members name from the 1 of 120 Club. Looks like not all of them still own a 1997 5 speed. So if you are still the current owner of 1997 SC300 5 speed let us know of serial number and last 7 VIN numbers if you don't mind.

NOTE : Something makes me wonder. The numbers at the bottom of the VIN tag on the driver's door doesn't seem to be that of the 120 only that where sold in the USA because I have seen VIN tags with numbers above 120.

I will be honest I have no idea .. maybe someone who knows can chime in. As per wikipedia , the numbers below are the SCs SOLD in the USA. PROBABLY, the production number includes all the other SCs (Soarers) meant for other markets around the world which include both left and right handed cars



EDIT : After verifying the worldwide Lexus SC production, the 120 are the last 5 speed sold in the USA which confirms the table above from wiikipedia.

I know that a while back Aliga parted one out (2 years ago?) that had been total'd, there was also that 1 that's for sale in arizona, they might have the vin listed for it on the cl ad.

No, this isn't worldwide. Only USA since Lexus didn't exist outside of north America in 92-97.

Ok I wasn't sure of the that. I know they opened up dealerships in the UK in 1998 but they never sold SC's there.
They sold SC300s in Canada back then? Everyone I know up there seems to own a soarer.

Yes, they sold Lexus in Canada just like they did in the states. Soarers are the JDM imports.
