Do you have pics of those in the housings? I'd like to see how you mounted them, they look to be the wrong shape, a little too rectangular.

GREAT WORK on your tails, and nice picture taking/documentation as well!!
Just a thought, if you don't want it to look like 'Home depot' lenses, open a set of 1992-1994 SC taillights (I see you already have a set!) and grab the fully clear inner sections out for a factory look- Here's what I did: Save your 92-94 lights! 50/50 Red/Clear Mixtails
[Btw, You could make a small diffuser to cover the reverse light and it would look fully continuous.]

Thanks , ..... where were you a week ago?? That looks really clean, can you take a close up of the lens, to get a better look at the piece in question. (the clear '92 diffuser behind the clear '95 lens) That looks well ummm, factory, LOL the only issue I see is having the reflector and backup light "hole" right in the middle of my brake lights.

You have to use the 92-94 back sections w/harnesses, 92-94 clear center sections, with the 95-96 outer red/clear lenses- Unless you were to retrofit the reverse plastic box sections from the 92-94 lights into the 95-96 lights but that'd get complicated. I suppose you're pretty good at this sort of wiring from what I can tell so it might not be too bad!?
I see a V2.0 in the future! This picture will describe what I'm talking about...

Another idea might be to cut out the curved section from the 92-94 lights that you need and retro it into the 95-96 center lense instead of the HomeDepot lense, then you'd only need one square of the Home depot lense for the middle. Always good to have options- Great stuff you're doing!:

I haven't added up everything, this could be painful, but here goes.

used tail lights $160
tail light LEDs $ 52
Brake light LEDs $161
LED drivers $ 72
Aluminum $ 10
diffuser material $ 8
Misc. $ 10

Total $473

I had all the wire and most of the hardware laying around. I bought the acrylic lens material at home depot, they sell the same ones in a cheaper grade of plastic for half the price.

I've been working on these for about 4 weeks, but there has been a lot of down time too, since I changed my mind on some things, and researched stuff, then had to wait several times for parts to come in. It's really only a few days of work if you have everything in stock and have a game plan. One of the housings had water in it, it was full of rust, the turn signal reflector was shot, it was so bad it wouldn't reflect anything, solid rust from the bulb socket to the bottom. I cleaned it , sanded it, and painted it with "chrome" spray paint, which as you guys probably know is never really chrome. I ended up using some chrome trim tape and doing it in little strips to accomodate the compound curves. I didn't want the lines, but the tape is MUCH more reflective than the chrome paint.

All the bulbs were corroded too. I took some time cleaning up the housing, repainting the silver, and sandblasting all the bulb sockets. I generally work pretty fast, but since I was always waiting on stuff, I took my time since each day I could only do so much without having to stop. I spent WAAAY more "tedious" time and labor modifying the tail light lenses on the mini. grinding out out all the molded in diffusers and reflectors, then polishing them smooth.

Damn right son, doing it right ain't doing it cheap. Damn high school kids running around here with their $10 led's per 100 pack acting like they are doing something.

I can always count on some to do their Lexus right.
