Well he didn't say when he will start modding again, could be 1-4 years from now. Or if you was going in a E-1 or OCS. But good luck either way. I suggest you work on the SC and then revaluate once you settled in the service, a year or 2. And see how you finances are then. I mean the longer you wait on the LS to more affordable a pre owned will become, right? Good Luck and keep your head down. My time in the service was one of my best memories, wasn't no war going on but we was stuck in central america during a very shakey time...I am from the Ollie North era....Wink Wink.

When I was 17 I had the choice to register into the military on my 18th B-day or move with my family to right beside Dobbins in ATL on Cobb Pky. I chose Dobbins, but would have had it easier going into the military than being a 17 yr old kid with no car on the Dobbins AFB block in ATL in '93. Oh well at least you can't F that up twice
I don't think the 460L and a 20 yr old car have anything in common no matter what you intend to do with either of them and therefore feel this thread is misguided to the point there is no way to make a choice.

my opening thread stated nothing about being 20 or whatever you say. i said that later. just like it stated nothing about money but someone else decided to worry about it for me. this thread is retarded already. like i said to the subject. thanks. you can make the choice by sticking to the first post. its easier that way. the rest is opinions. i rather people not base their opinions on someone elses

Keep the SC and buy a house... You'll look back and be like "dang I was stupid for paying $80,000+ for a car." I'm about the same age as you, 24, and I get the wantsies as well, but be smarter with your money. The SC is a great car and you don't need 2. Good luck on everything.

I guess your wife didn't get discharged, that's good. However; whether you have bills or not, rent, etc... When you walk into the bank, don't matter if you're millitary or not, the procedures are still the same. You have to clear a % of the money earned for living expences whether you have them or not. The banks don't give a ISH if you live in your ride and eat top roman. Besides, with your age I am sure your credit won't be acceptable for a loan that high ether. Maybe a high risk loan, but then that's even more dumb. Also, don't forget to factor in insurance too, I am sure you will be paying a hefty amount for that as well.
Now on to the cars, mod a 3k car or buy a 80/90k car, really???

Just because you can afford something doesnt mean you should buy it. In 5-7 yrs when the newest LS revision comes out, you will be sad you no longer have a top of the line car. Not to mention all the money you put into your car will be gone. Listen to TRD_Power, buy a house or save that money. It just seems retarded to put all your eggs into on basket, a basket that deprecates with time.

i think you would regret buying the LS460 in the matter of months... spending atleast $1000 a month on a car would get old fast, i don't care how nice the car is. Now, if you were a millionaire and wanted an LS460, that would be a totally different story. But if you're still stuck on the whole LS thing in a year i would suggest checking out an LS430... one step down but still baller! throw some bags and rims on it and call it a day.....
Good luck with your decision...i go through this every spring...

I would build the SC. So much power available + they handle decent + they look amazing + u can get 3-4 ppl in them. If u want a big bodi buy the LS 2nd hand in a few years. Thats what Im doing. Building my SC till the kid gets a lil older and takes all my money, then ill buy a big body (LS430 prolly) to drive the family around in. I might even make the babys momma buy my big body.
