Or they can just take any old 19mm socket and force them to work

The best defence against thieves is not letting them know what you have. The very best security device will not stop a competent thief, only delay him.

If you want your rims to stay safe, then park in the garage, where no one can see. If you don't have a garage, I have found that the best security device is to keep a firearm next to you as you sleep and to listen for the sound of breaking windows or your alarm going off.

One Idea I have been toying with, is putting a video camera/tripod in the second floor of my house and recording everynight, my car, to my hard drive. Then I'll have it wipe the video a on a rolling 1 week time period. Or another variation on this theme is a camera that works like the motion security lights. Takes pictures/video everytime something moves.

For me, Id almost rather have something stolen and the thieves put in jail, than prevent the left LOL.

that would be worth doing simply to watch them try to steal them.

LoL, yeah its hell enough beating a 19mm socket over one locking lug because it broke or the key broke, let alone five.

i think the gorilla lug nuts are what i have on my wheels right now. i would not get them because the key stripped on me one time and had to buy a whole new set of lug nuts just to get a new key. but i think i just torqued them too hard so if you don't torque them really, really tight they'll probably be fine. I think I want to move to regular, non-key lug nuts that are longer than normal (1.8"-2") to clear my custom wheel's lug nut holes. i bought some regular lug nuts on eBay a while ago and my torque wrench would not fit around the lug nut in the hole because the hole was a little too small and lug nut a little too short to work. maybe if i had a special, thin wrench extension it could work.

i would probably prefer, if i was going with key lug nuts, keys that fit inside the lug nuts (open-ended design). there would probably be less chance of stripping than the gorilla lug nut keys. the only thing i don't like about that is that i want the center of my wheels to have a full silver/bright look to them with as little black or space as possible. but i guess i could just get some lug nut caps from an auto parts store if they'd fit.

I prefer Project Kics as they are a two-piece design that doesn't scratch the lug seating surface on the wheels.
