Default Alright guys, have an oddball rim/tire question

We have a set of maxima rims that i can get for practically nothing laying around and the tires on my car are shot...so i'd like to use them.

They are 18x7.5 +40

How would a 245/40/R18 sit on them?? Also, how compatible would these rims be to a 2" drop.

Thank you in advance for the help guys.

Bump....i did the research guys, i know this is the size tire they should have, just want to know if they could handle anything wider, and if i would have to roll fenders with them at a 2" drop at that offset.

Definitely no fender mods needed. They will likely look like they're tucked up under the car a ways actually.

Is a bit of a tuck a good thing?? Will it look nice, i guess, is what im asking.

Also there wont be a problem mounting some 245/40/zr18's on those rims will there? It seems all manufacturers recommended rim size for that size tire is 8"-9.5"

those wheels would be suck as hell. i have a set of bbs that are 17x10+45 and even that is sunk. its flush with a 25mm spacer though.

that wheel will be just like stock.

245 on a 7.5 is way too wide. i have a set of 245/45 on a 9" wheel and its square. no stretch at all. same size 245 on a 10" with just a tad of a stretch.

245 on a 7.5 is a ballooning tire.

btw try to find some hubcentric rings. nissan wheels have a 66mm bore and toyota bore is 60mm. maybe i should make some. ive had a bunch of friends ask for some. lol

i'm sure you can get a 245 on a 7.5" but with that wheel with and offset thos things are gonna look horrible..

probably something like this. these are some old G35 sedan wheels i had on my old car for a month or two.. the sedans have similar offsets to the maxima..

The only person in this thread talking sense... The widest I'd go on a pizza cutter 7.5 inch wheel is 225. 315?! That is utter puke. Somebody should be slapped for that one...

Honestly, OP, the SC is a luxurious car. I wouldn't degrade it by putting those crappy wheels on (and I'm a Nissan guy!). I wouldn't even use those as drift spares! I'd sell those on craigslist and run oem/stock until I could afford to buy what I really wanted. But that's just me...

what about these rims?? how will the look/fit at these offsets? If the car is dropped @ 1.5"-2" will the fenders need modification?

You already have the drop right? 1100 is honest workable amount. You could find some sick rims with tires off craigslist with the right offset and width your looking for. Just search on craiglist and be a bit patient, constanly check back and youll find something very nice within a week. I could almost guarantee it. Especially with the way the economies going right now, people are selling some name brand stuff for very cheap just to get some money in their hand. Thats my advice to you bro, good luck!
