Default Pink Panther (attic) sound deadning question

Ok so I found a bunch of Sound deadening material that looks very similar to the pink panther stuff that has been suggested to use on this forum.

The only thing is it is not pink, its yellow and i don't know the brand.

Is the yellow stuff ok to use inside my car, or will it spontaneously combust and kill everybody? thanks.

Sound deadning in the car. There is a thread where O.L.T. said he used this stuff to do his car. i looked online and it seems the only difference between the pink and yellow is brand. Ill try the lighter thing today and see how that works.

The only thing I'd worry about is the glass fibers floating around inside the cabin (if it's gonna be anywhere near there).

Wow thats straight up insulation. Looks like the stuff they use in houses. If you really want to sound deaden your car you should use DynaMat. There are a couple nice threads with great pictures floating around from members who've done this already.

Im going to see how this goes first since its free

That's one of the concerns I've had. Ive researched that its relatively harmless to the lungs, but those studies were done in houses and not inside cars.

O.L.T had some info on it in this thread if you guys wanna check it out.

Trust me, dont use house insulation in the car! Its too small a space. That **** gets in the air, it gets in your lungs, it makes you caugh. Its especially worse when it gets in your eyes and starts to sting and your body starts the itch from the small pieces of fiberglass floating around. Im speaking from constuction experience, ive worked around fiberglass a lot and the material stays in the air for a couple days so im not too sure how long it will last in a cabin as small as a cars. Either way, may God be with you if you decide to use it - lol - seriously though

It works and it does not get in the air because it is behind the panels. You must have open air circulation behind/through the insulation to circulate the fibers (like a filter).

If you throw it on the top of the back deck, yeah that'd be dumb. No open air installation of the pink panther. You don't want to circulate the fibers, but behind the panels there is NO AIR FLOW and it's perfectly fine. Does air go through your walls in your house and blow fibers in your home?

Put it behind a door panel, or put it behind a dishwasher..... in the walls, is in the walls.

If you wrap it, you defeat the purpose. the wrap reflects sound.

Thanks for the advise O.L.T.

I'm going to start under the rear seats, mostly in the wheel well area, because I feel that will make the most noticeable difference.

How much of this stuff does it take to do the car? I have a feeling that one big square is not going to be enough.
