Question Who else drives their SC in the SNOW?

I'm in Iowa, and bought a 97 SC300 (AT, no TC) as my primary vehicle. I'm familiar with rear wheel drive, and so far have had no problems, even though I'm on standard all-season tires...

Anyone have any winter driving experiences or recommendations to share?

Thanks,
Harpo

I wish it would snow in California (excludes Tahoe).

Used to, got an ES350 for that now, so the SC can hibernate till spring.

Grass is always greener, eh? (n no i'm not Canadian)

And trust me you do not wish their was snow on the ground. Besides not being able to have reflectors and spinning out of control n dieing. Snow is gonning to shorten the life of your sc, greatly.

OP, If i were you, i would get 95ish honda accord or toyota camry and just garage the sc. Or you could just buy dedicated winter tires and a pressure washer. Pressure wash the underside of you car like once a month. That'll help slow down the rusting.

If you plan on using your SC in the snow I would recommend a set of snow tires. If the snow is pretty heavy then some studded snow tires would work great also. Snow chains tend to rip through the tires when used improperly.

+1 on snow tires. I spent last winter with my 2-season tires and it sucked. Winter before that I had snow tires and it wasn't too bad. Try keeping the gas tank full too as it helps a little with traction in the rear.

Driven mine for the past 3 years in winter. One year in NJ one in rochester NY and this one in IN. +1 for winter tires. I had the Blizzaks on the OEM 16s And they worked just fine. Im running a mixed batch this year on Supra wheels and i wish i had my Blizzaks right now.

My wide wheels don't like to get traction in the snow at all. I drive a TRD Tundra Limited for that.
