I just bought a 96 Nakamichi OEM on Ebay to replace my 92 Nakamichi unit that died; with a 96 unit is there a security code and will I need to go to a Lexus dealer to get/have the code entered?:

Just received my Nakamichi replacement deck for my 91 LS400 and need the security codes to get it to work, Off E-bay from Madrid Spain. How do I get the codes?

Thank you for searching! Although, I have no idea, usually you have to get it from the dealer with your VIN but that wont work in this situation. There are numerous online sites you can pay for a code but there's gotta be a free way..

From the quick research I did Lexus can reset the headunit for you, just tell them its a replacement. Takes 30min to 1hr of labor time...might be cheaper to get an aftermarket head unit.

I have had the battery disconnected in my 96 SC & have not had to install any code to get the radio to work. It is a Nak head unit.
