Early this month I installed led lights in my cluster.

Now my Speed was reading 30 and I was actually going 39 according to a radar sign. I circled back around to do the test again and the same happened.
I havent verified it against another car yet but just before I did the leds this sign was matching with my speedo.

Any ideas here? Did I bump something during the install or is the lower resistance of the LEDs having something to do with it??

I'm baffled. I think I have had every single car problem happen to me now between all the cars Ive had over the years

I do have 20s but have always had 20s and never had this problem before.
I think that could make a small difference but not 9mph at that low of a speed

Mine is really messed up too but it's because I didn't re-install the needle correctly I'll fix it soon.

I didn't remove the needles or touch them at all as far as I know

Lol mine tells me im going 5mph while at 65mph i think its the cluster but im not sure

my speedo is off also but i figured it because im running a staggered wheel fitment with 275 in the back... Im going 65 when im only going 60~.. which is cool for me because it makes my mind think im speeding when im not, cop try to laser me at 50 when i was really going only 45 by his laser but my speedo said 50 so i thought i was screwed lol.

you might want to try a different place with a different speed sign. its possible THAT speed sign could have problems too. knock off all the varibles and controls before you figure its 100% ur cluster.

the motor that actually moves the needle may have started to go bad. it could be just a coincidence that it happened when you removed the cluster.

i have had my cluster out at least a dozen times and, knock on wood, im still good.

yes mine sucks mine says 15mph more than what im going so if im going 40mph i would have to go at 25mph.... and now my gas needle is not working either....

fragile things, i had my cluster needles done, and the gas gauge was almost at high noon when i filled the tank. after several removals and sticking it back in i got it right. i burned 18 gallons and the little light came on. happy day. while messing with it my speedo needle fell off. and was not sure where to put it, so i put it zero. to check accuracy, on the interstate doing 60 i did mile markers and 60 second stop watch, which did 62 seconds, close enough for a 92 400sc. i was in a car with a navigation device, and that appeared to measure speed very well.
careful with those needles.
