hi everyone, well frist of all i did search and sorry i couldn't find any information about fog to hid convertion tutorial, did try to do it yesterday and got stuck in the cable part, please... if anyone of you know how to do it, help me out!!! many thanks!!!!!! sorry to being noob!!!

I did this mod, pretty easy, except I bought new foglights as I wanted the best results, the older ones were tarnished with a funny green look...

It's just like any other hid installation, you'll need to locate two grounds, and ofcourse the positive goes to the battery. I used a kit from Xenondepot.com, so it includes a wire harness relay system. I strongly suggest you use a kit that has this already or you'll be very sorry.

Otherwise, just access the fog lights via the bottom panel of the car, you'll need a very short philips driver to reach the screw ontop of the foglights (feel around and you'll find there is a screw ontop holding them into the bumper).

That was the only pain in the *** for me. You may find that you'll need to dremel if any rust is in there! Also the foglight lens has the STUPID clip system so it's just easier to remove them, properly secure the HID bulb, then reinstall them. I say if you're going to go through the trouble, get some new lenses to make it clean!

3000k, they look great, but they don't project as much light forward as I'd like compared to the 97+ fogs, but it still looks very nice!

I have a 92' SC400 and wanna convert my corner lights into fogs.

What's a safe amount to buy? I wont use them that often so is 10,000k going to be be ridiculous?

I like the blue look and I would be pretty happy with some blue fogs, as I wont use them when driving, unless alone in the woods lol.

Any advice? And what's it cost for 10k HID fogs?

There are plenty of Ebay HID kits out there. I have had good luck with Kensun and Xenon. I also recommend getting the 55 watt ballast, not the 35 watt ones. They aren't bright enough for my liking. GL.

Also the 10K, to me, are to BLAH color. I like nothing more than the 5K, which produce the BEST light output.

DDM Tuning gets a lot of good reviews. I just installed a 4500k kit for my low beams and although I was a little concerned with the lighting output at first, they're perfectly fine now. I'm happy with the purchase.

Placing HID's in the pre 95 cornering lamps is NOT going to point light in the proper direction, its going to scatter the light to the left and right of the vehicle and its going to look horrible.

Please, take the time and do it correctly and do a retrofit before putting HID's in. Or swap your front bumper to a 95+ that has REAL fog light housings on it and then do the HID's.

Common color for HID is 3000k-5000k. Anything higher will be straight Crayola/Ricer blue/purple.
