THANKS for updating this!

Here in SoCal, I see an SC at least once a day, not counting my next door neighbor"s (she has a gorgeous SC400), so it's easy to take for granted what rare animals they actually are.

To put in perspective: in 2007 - only 1 year, 473,108 Camry's were sold.

Again, in 1 year (2007), Lexus sold 82,867 ES 350 luxury sedans .

MORE than all SC's produced from 1992-2000.

Love thy SC!

Nice find, and Thanks

Nah - there was no gas price issues back in 1996-2000.

Remember unleaded at $0.9999???

Or premium under $1.20?

My guess for flip-flop in SC300 vs. SC400 production numbers is: competition, and as usual pricing.

The SC4 always costs about $10k more - which people didn't mind paying when it was the only game in town.

When BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes and to lesser extent Acura discovered this "niche", they put out similar products, sometimes at lower prices.

Hence the decline of both SC's in quantity.

No decline in quality though.

Also in later years, except for the engine, special SC4 features could be added as options on SC3.

To really put this into perspective, you don't see a whole lot of 2003 Cobras around. I looked it up and in 2003 they made between 8,000 and 9,000 Cobra coupes alone, not counting the convertibles. They made 3,883 5-speed SC's...ever.

I have a 1992 5MT with 111K, it has Tan cloth interior and the dark red outside, unsure of the exact paint code. Is that a hard to find scheme?
