Incorrect...my holes were filled when it was repainted. Orig owner backed into a mailbox. That entire corner was blended in. He didnt replace the badge, cause at the time it was a 2 month back order from Lexus.

Where you been anyway man....havent seen any updates on your car.

Ok now I'm really wondering here. See I didn't do the repaint...I was told by a Lexus Serv writer, that there are supposed to be two holes for the emblem on my 97' When I called the orig owner...he told me about the back order emblems.

Now I wanna know. cause I'm thinking I have bondo/filler back there...maybe I don't?

I hate the badges, but will not JUST removed the SC300 form one side, that looks uneven to me.

Hmm, bondo....

So a 1998 SC300 will have holes behind the "L" logo and the "Lexus" logo? Also Does the front "L" emblem have holes also, or can I remove that one?

Yes, they all have holes and your car will have 16 years of oxidation. Even if you removed the badges and put another in their place, you will see a ghost of the existing badges. I don't care how much you polish, wet sand, etc...16 years of sun has hit your clear coat and paint. You need to remove the badges, get them filled by a professional body shop, and have it resprayed.

Shave the badges. Fill holes, paint, done. Looks way better, you'll just need to clarify to the many people that will think you have a 240SX. Or you can keep them guessing.

This is how it is on the 97+ I know for a fact, not sure when they changed though.
My 92 had holes behind everything, I had the entire end shaved, sanded, stitch-welded, and re-sprayed. It's totally worth it IMO.

I'm rocking the 97 tails, and a badgeless rear with the soarer front emblem.

If you get really close to the rear end, I'm talking close enough to blink and scrape it with your eyebrows you can almost see a ghost of an outline for where the 3 holes behind the big L were, but the others are impercebtible. My body shop did a great job of it and I was extremely happy with the work done and really enjoy this look for the rear end.

If I was braver I would toss these tails in the oven and red out the amber turn signals and then smoke the reverse lights like MDSC because his tail lights look amazing. But there's already some light spidering around the key hole on these lights so I'm worried they'd crack trying to remove the lens.

If I could find the 97+ tails in the junkyard, I'm going to take the lenses off, rid the chrome
strips. I forgot who did that.

At first I didnt want to remove
the L badge. Only the LEXUS. But I said screw it and just had all the holes filled. If I wanted a badge on, cut off the pegs and double sides tape. It's stupid to me that Lexus would put holes on the trunk lid but I guess it made placement of the emblems easier for the blind.

I'm all for shaving them all off but I think I'll leave the center L in place.
