[QUOTE=xknowonex;4747302]I think I posted up on this thread a couple of years ago and I am surprised that the thread got resurrected.

Yeah I plead guilty for this:...I was doing a search and came across this not looking at when it was last posted just to throw my opinion hoping it doesn't become the next 240 fad...cause the more people have it,the more people want it,the more people will do whatever to get it!!...as in learn how to break into them steal them etc....this is the reason why I got out of the honda scene

This seems very true to me.

no. for a few reasons.

1. just from what ive seen personally there simply arent that many sc's on the road to make it THAT big of a car. a good 1/2 of the SCs out there are driven by regular everyday folk. not people into modding em. thats only changed in the last couple of years. where 240's have been super popular going on 7/8 years now.

2. price of parts...this is obvious. anything lexus is gona be more just cus. and unfortunately our cooler brother (mk iv supra) also fits into the 'expensive just cus' category. but thats ONLY because theres just not enough of them out there that companies flood the market and drop prices ridiculously like they do for civics, 240s etc.

if you look at what parts for civics and 240s cost its almost laughable.

all that said having 'the popular car' can work against you too.... 240s are typically a couple thousand dollars more then similar condition SC's even tho when new the SC was like 3 times the price... and SR swaps from what ive read seem to be more money then 1j's. which is kinda ironic. again i suspect this has to do with the popularity of the car and supply and demand for motors...which there arent any aftermarket options for.

as far as drifting ....im all for it.... i respect the DIY attitude that goes with drifting... if im sliding around in a car thats gona bump into walls and hop curbs more often then not. why spend 3 grand on paint or worry about reglassing mount holes for a bumper....ziptie that *****, flat black whatever panels dont match and go for it.
