DIY- (yes another one) fix a popping door hinge in 7 seconds.
I have lived with the aggravation of a popping door hinge for nearly 2 years because I was always under the impression it was in the massive hinge structure itself. I never bothered to take a look at it and see otherwise.
Well, it's not. It's in that simple little sleeve that wraps around the large bar. There are two ways to fix this.
1- The lazy way, which takes 7 seconds. Use a 10mm socket to remove ONE bolt from the sleeve. This allows the sleeve to flex out and this keeps the door from popping.
2- The more complicated way. remove both 10mm bolts and take the sleeve off. Grind, sand, or dremel the problem area catching on the hinge (it will be obvious) an reinstall the sleeve. (about ten minutes time)
Likely you'll do #1 until you get a free weekend and follow through with #2.
This will immediately solve your door hinge popping issue.
I was about to replace the entire hinge today (which involves unwiring the entire door from the cabin compartment). After I found the problem, I was fixed in a couple minutes! 
Without putting a new $200 hinge on.

With that bolt removed, the sleeve wrapped around the hinge will flex when the door is moved and keep it from grabbing and popping. Someone on here has fixed this before, but there were no detailed instructions so I never knew how, now you do.
This bolt is NOT load bearing in any way to the hinge itself.

Did this to the 97 last night. The door hing had been getting progressively worse to the point it was pinching the front fender and chipping paint off.
7 seconds later it was working fine. OLT 4 tEh WiN!

I never messed with that indent plate because of the warning I found on this Aussie web site:

It mentions that the "indent plate, roller ball and spring assembly" are under a bit of pressure. Glad to know that the whole assembly won't explode if I try to take it off!
