uhh fuel filter change, tune up, fuel injector cleaner (ie. techron), alignment, tires(good treadwear/tire pressure), and also you may try synthetic oil (engine,trans., and diff.). thats all i can think of at the moment.

I get about 15mpg as well, all city driving. I haven't done a tune-up in a while and I'm due for an oil change. I feel that when I change my plugs, cap, rotor, and fuel filter I will be up around 17-18 mpg city, but who knows. Also I have a lead foot.

Fill the tires up to like 36-38psi. I did that on my winter beater and def got better gas milage by 3 or 4 but then again it's a jetta. ...You can try it...

Get a good tune up first, check tire pressure, and dont ride the rpm's too high... Also if you can get high flowing cats and mufflers and a K@N intake filter. Do all that you will see a very good increase in gas mileage, gauranteed...

Other very unlikely causes of gas compsuption would be a small fuel leak, but you would probably smell something, other would be a fouled ECU that is running the car too rich, very unlikely and the engine would run different....Good luck...

City driving kills my MPG. I get around 16 around town.

Out on the highway, I get about 26. Much better.

If you have to change your driving habits because of gas prices, this car is definitely not
for you. A econobox 4-banger is probably a better choice.

One little thing that improved my MPG was turning on the PWR ECT. Weird, considering
it increases RPM gear changes. But I swear my car not only runs better, but spend less
at the pump. YMMV.

Straight city driving = 14-16mpg
Highway = 22-24mpg

Thats what Ive gotten so far from my Sc300, 5spd. Seems to be very common to get around those values. It is alot of weight to haul around and the 2jz isnt exactly efficient by any means.

wow.... I'm lucky to get 350km out of a tank of gas ... even when I baby it, 1J and heavy foot don't help usually, but are the NA 2JZ's that much more efficient on gas?

I think 15mpg is the norm for the SC300. I've done all the tuneup (fuel filter, air filter, NGK iridums, fuel injector cleaner, new tires that are properly inflated, alignment, mobil 1 synthetic) and I still get around 13mpg. But then again I do do a lot of driving up and down hills (one trip every day almost), so that kills the mileage. On the highway, the best I got was 19mpg. That's going around 80-90 the whole way w/1 passenger.
