Carbon Fiber hood and trunk...HELP!
I need your honest opinion on what I am considering. I have a black 97 SC4 and am thinking about getting a CF hood and trunk... or and why?

if you get CF, paint it. Personally, the trunk isn't worth it. The rear end of the SC is already light as-is.
Unpained CF simply isn't cool. If it was cool, Ferrari, Lamborghini and the like would offer their cars straight-up clear-coated. They don't... because it lacks class.
Why is the F40 still a rediculously cool car? It's a passenger away from the weight of an elise and you can see the weave of the carbon fiber through the thin layer of paint when you look closely.
The SC from bumper to bumper is all about class. Whether it's VIP, Clean 97 with rims, or something like Chris T's SC or SW's SC... the car is classy fast or slow, black or white.

Hood weight loss 40lbs, trunck maybe 20lbs, for how much? $700 I don't think so... You can drop that weight by removing your spare tire and stock jack in the trunk...

Woah !
1. If you paint the CF hood correctly it will look just like a stock hood as far as the finish. Ok what will a factory hood look like if you sand it down to bear metal ? Why compare a painted hood to a non painted ?
2. I'm not 100% sure about the weight diff but... I had my trunk shocks off and that stock trunk is very heavy.
3. I one day may go CF hood, CF trunk, aftermarket lightweight bumper, front and rear, and Carbon Fiber driveshaft for weight loss and driveline weight loss reduction. Take out the spare tire and tools. Change out stock exhaust system, LS brake upgrade, lightweight wheels.
Bet it would improve power to weight ratio about 7-10 %.
