Default The weight reduction (with numbers) thread

Take your hands away from that keyboard dammit! I know there are plenty of weight reduction threads floating around and this is going to add to them but I intend for this one to be a slight bit more useful than what's already out there. The linked thread says 74lbs for stock seats, 54 is for the Supra drivers seat.

I'd add the weights of spare tire, jack and iron, 58 + 4.5 = 62.5lbs
LS400 calipers vs OEM saves 6lbs per caliper

Weights of the stock system (headunit/amp/sub/subamp/changer) vs a standard headunit would be interesting along with the 97+ supra control arms vs the OEM ones and Xerd headers vs. the stock manifold.

I've seen this many times but I think the Supra calipers are a better option because of the wide variety of performance pads available for them. I think the performance outweights the weight reduction in this aspect.

looking at the list so far, a 3000lbs doesn't look nearly as difficult as you might imagine. (not cheap either)

Does anyone have the GTP/Importfan carbon trunk? I hate their carbonwork but I am tempted to buy one and paint it if the weight savings are decent enough. (though I'd worry about adding a wing to it because who knows how stable it is)

not in this format...i want to have a good list with parts/mods that loose weight from the car in order...with weight savings listed...something like this makes it very easy to read and easy to pick and choose what you can do to lighten your SC. Most of the other threads I've seen are incomplete and/or do not give you a good idea as to how much weight the car can lose as much as they just list oem part weights.
