How many SC owner have this problem, and how did you fix it?
My 93 SC400 brake felt very soft ever since I bought it 4 months ago. So far, I had bleed the traction control, all four brake calipers, change the master cylinder, adjusted the push rod...the brake still feel soft.
I don't want to change the brake lines to stainless steel yet, until I fix this issue.

Thanks,
VQT 93 SC400

simple question...are the pads new? Do you know how thick new pads are? they have a lot of meat. If the pads are worn out and u think they are ok u'll be in for a big surprise when u replace them.

Also check the master cylinder for internal leaks.

Have you tried any other 93 SC400s? May be that what you feel as soft is the way the brakes are.

However, the brake lines may BE the issue. I've read in other posts how older stock brake lines can get a bit soft and, by expanding under pressure when you press the brake, causes the soft feeling. May be time to look at new stock brake lines or upgrading to stainless. I'm not an expert in this area but I'd check out the brake lines.

I had the same problem with my 92 sc400. I just had new front pads and rotors installed and the system bled. Now it feels great. I had the system bled twice before but it was still soft. i can't say what caused the correction but it is like night and day. My old rotors were real thin and warped. It might be the thicker rotors.

Mind, I already replaced the master cylinder and it still feel the same.

The pads on all four wheels are at least more than 5 mm thick; therefore, worn out pads are not the issue.

The rotors are also in good shape

Today, A Lexus mechanic friend of my brother suggested that I check the free play of the "Sliding Pin". Sure enough, I found one sliding pin frozen; I am having problem of taking this pin out, after this pin is out, clean, grease...I'll up date the problem. All other sliding pin are easy to slide in and out.
