Yup, but I tell the ladies it's a 9".
Brian, I take her out about 3 times a week. Always with the lights on so the hardware gets a workout. So at least 6 to 8 on-off cycles a week since I got a daily driver 2 years ago.
They got abused every single day for three more years prior to the DD.

It's all in the surgical installation.
JP, I got them at a surplus electronics store that no longer carries them. But, as long as you use a 160mm tube and the corresponding inverter, you should be good.
Damn it's been 5 years already? Jeebus.

I know I was talking to a buddy yesterday telling him "since when did a 2004 model Lexus become a half a decade old car????" Makes our SC's look like they should come with wagon wheels.

This thread came along just right on time as I have my climate out and replacing the LCD seems pretty straightforward. I'm willing to try out the CCFL method and have a few questions. Where do you put the inverter, and where does it tap in for power on the climate? Also, are these the right bulbs for this app? http://www.emerginglighting.com/3x16fuspccla.html
And would this be the appropriate inverter for it? http://www.emerginglighting.com/12inpiinduou1.html
Thanks.

The inverter I mounted on the outside of the back of the climate control housing. I tapped into the factory illumination circuit so it came on with the parking and headlights just as the factory climate lights.

so I'm assuming I need a higher voltage range than 0-5V? The factory illumination circuit is in one of those three connectors plugged into the climate control on the outside back of the unit right? If I snap a pic of it would you remember which one you tapped into? Sorry I don't have a working diagram..Thanks.
