Hi all,

I am checking out the SC300/400 forum because I am thinking of selling my 1996 ES300 and buying an early model SC400.

I was wondering how the SC300/400 would look with the IS300 rims...I have the IS300 rims on my ES and they look nice.

I am pretty pleased with how they look on the SC's. Too bad the 5 spoke IS rims don't come in 18's or 19's. I think the 17's look a little small on the SC...as well as on my car.

If any of you have suggestions on a certain year SC400 to avoid or things to look for when buying a used SC400 I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
badams

if you like the look of the IS rims, get the GS rims instead. VERY similar, but wider for the SC. it will look much better. it will fit, don't get me wrong, but the car will look kinda weird for being on thin tires.

badams, I agree that the IS rims look small on an SC, you're definitely forced to slam the car for it to even look partially acceptable as the wheels are simply too thin. If you like the look and the GS rims still aren't big enough for you then try the Moda R6 rims, now those rims in 18's or 19's look perfect IMO. Do a search and you'll see what they look like on an SC. As for buying your SC, just make sure you get one from someone who cared about the car and has a working knowledge of all the maintenance that has been done

Your car looks great, but - keep your lights on. My mother was killed in a metallic grey car about the same shade as yours because it blended in with the road - another driver didn't see it and pulled out in front of her.
Both of my cars are bright red.
