Default Need advice, looking to buy 92 SC400

Hey guys of the SC3/4 part of the forums. I usually don't come over here, but maybe I might be coming more often soon.. The dealer here on Guam just listed a 92 SC400 in the paper, pearl white for $8,995. Are there any major problems from this model that I should know about before purhcasing the car? I am going down to the dealer to check it out this afternoon, that's where I can actually look at it and check out the miles and see how it runs, etc.. I just wanted to get a heads up from you experts. Thanks.

The miles I know will be rock bottom, that's how it is with all cars on Guam (due to the island's small size). I'll let you know when I get back from the dealer... I'll be there in about 2hrs.

Just got back from the dealer... Bad news, the car is out to an employee who is interested in it.. He's "testing" it for the weekend. The car is MINT, it belonged to a rich local businessman's wife and it has only 79,000 miles. There was another SC there, a 300 but damn it was 19,995. wtf. Didn't bother about asking more info on that as soon as I saw the tag. I should know by Monday if the car is still available......*sigh*

Sounds like a good deal. When you see the car make sure the dash needles and lights all work. If they are burned out your looking at about $800 to fix them. There are other things to watch for, but I wouldnt worry too much, the SC400 is in my opinion one of the most reliable cars on the road. Good Luck

oh the dreaded dash needles.. That was a problem with the ES too, but luckily I didn't have it... I'll be sure to look out for it if I indeed get the chance to see the car.

What crack rock have you been smoking?
OLT has been offering AMAZING deals for fixing them in CUSTOM COLORS!!!!
The price would be probably below $150 w/ shipping (to Guam) for regular waterfalls and the dash (climate control and radio) or $250 if you want to do SMD.....
I guess I could maybe how you could see an 8, if you close up the hoops on the 3 to make an 8....
But OLT has been doing a major service to all those w/ burnt out needles and his prices are very reasonable so don't let the needles discourage you from owning such a fine automobile.

Mods: feel free to edit if anything here is incorrect/unreasonable

Yea, I was looking through that OLT thread yesterday, it was 40+ pages!!! I got up to the part with the custom red dash, then skipped to the last page.. hehe. If I ever have a problem with the dash and if I ever get the car, then I guess I won't have any problems.
