Im in the process of removing my PSP as i type this.... but im stuck on finding one of the side 14mm bolts and also I cant figure out how to remove the High Pressure Holes. I have probably ready every post on the subject but none really tell you exactly how to remove the HPH.

car is a 93 SC400

one of the bolts on the side is directly under the other. i couldnt feel it, but i knew it was there and eventually got the socket on it. you'll do fine. it is DIRECTLY under it.

the hph can come out a few ways, but the best way i have done it is to remove the two bolts from the side of the plate and use a flatblade to lift the plate and hose of the top. it is held in by a grommet (that you MUST replace with w new pump if your doesnt have one included) so it provides a little resistance.

i know you feel lost, but everything is there, just counter sunk enough to make you think twice.

first, thanks for the fast reply... and i see your like the top dog around here (feelin like im in good hands)

But anyway, OK i think i should be able to find the nut... but just to make sure, both are 14mm correct?... its not 2 diff sizes or anything like that right?

Secondly Im still a lil confused on the HPH... Is the side plate connected directly to the PSP or is it located somewhere else... i see two huge nuts that kind of sandwich a rubber/plastic looking thing.. and they seem to be on some sort of nut that goes directly into the PSP.... I hope im making some sort of sense and giving you enough to go on. But thats were im really stomped, I dont want to start taking unnecessary things apart just to find the RIGHT way that was right in front of me.

I think the mechanical terms used are throwing me... im so so mechanical but my mechanical terminology is nowhere.

The reason im removing the Pump is to rebuild/replace the faulty parts with a kit i purchased. So will i still have to purchase one of these grommet's you mentioned?

Your thinking of Onesicklex

Follow the yellow arrow. remove the bolt shown on each side and pop a flat head under the bracket to remove it in an upwards motion. there is a grommet that must be replaced each time you do anything to the pump. it is a high stress area that is the source of most of the leaks (the grommet is)

OK ill give that a try, and while i was waiting for your reply i found that other nut and removed it...

Im pretty sure ill be bothering you again today or tomorrow after getting stomped on somthing.

I hadnt even planned on taking that braket off sense im not replacing the whole pump, I thought the hph was the holes toward the bottom of the pump with the 2 really big nuts and a rubber washer type thing between them.... i dont see how to remove that so i can get the pump off

I guess it runs from the bottom of the psp to the rack (shrugs)

if you go to buy that hose from Lexus you'll see how high pressure it is

$22.00 for a 6 inch hose (yes, the one on the top) because it is a special high pressure triple wound hose.

you'll find it is best to work from under the car after you have it all unbolted up top. grab a flashlight.

I still dont know how to get the holes with the weird nuts holding it off the psp... I posted pics of it below

you are only supposed to twist the front nut. the back one is held in place on purpose.

p.s.- i used an open end cresent wrench, it is the easiest way i believe.

Ok you're all getting confused here, the top hose with the 2 12mm bolts is the low pressure supply line. That comes off in a logical manner. It's easier just to take off the hose and bring everything out with the pump.

The high pressure output hose is on the bottom, use a 22mm wrench. There is enough room to do this.

There are 2 14mm bolts on the side. One long 14mm from the front, use a 4" extension on a 14mm deep 3/8 socket and stick it through the holes in the pulley (if it's still on there. There's another 14mm nut above that, same thing go through the holes in the pulley.

Only tighten the 22mm bolt again enough to slightly torque the 2 copper washers in different directions, they are attached with a common small tab, you can see this happen as you tighten it.

Make ABSOLUTELY sure the o ring on the supply line bracket is new or still good.
