SC400 lower exterior door moulding clips
hey everyone, I'm wondering where I can get new clips for the lower moulding on the passenger door of my car.
I bought the car without a weather strip, Lexus wanted 398 bucks for the peice, I managed to find one for 40 bucks locally.
The clips that hold it to the bottom of the door are broken and need to be replaced, I can't seem to find a part number for the clips. or a fiche for the door for that matter.

Did anyone ever find the part number or a source for a replacement? Lexus quoted $400 for a replacement moulding when all I need is the clips that sit in the track of the moulding. They are removable so there is no reason they aren't sold separately.

The pictures horrible, my apologies. That is the trim on the bottom of the drivers door. I agree it looks like the trim in the diagram you posted.
This is one of the 5 clips that have failed.
Lexus ordered 5 of the 90467-09075 clips which werent similar at all to the clips I have. I am headed to a Toyota dealership to see if they can find a part number for a Soarer of the same year.

After talking to another dealership I have given up the search. The guy I talked to said because the $400 replacement trim piece comes with the clips already attached they probably don't have their own parts number and therefore can't be bought individually, despite the fact that they aren't fixed in the track. I am going to try a diy method and will post a picture if I have any success.

Don't know if this will be helpful, but check this site below. I saved it a long time ago (from where, I cant remember) hoping it would be helpful when I needed new clips for my 85.

I ended up buying these:
$3 a pack at lordco
And drilling a hole in the 5 broken clips I had then inserted them in the clip. They fit snuggly into the holes drilled into the door but I was only able to attach it to 5/7 points.
I am not sure how long they will last, but it is working for now. I might try to add some adhesive at either end to be safe.
