Default interesting find

Everyone is biding on this*****************************
Does this car really only have 32000 miles that means it only had been driver 2000 miles a year. What needs to be replaced after the car sat for 8 years i bet hoses gaskets are bad.

I've seen a few super low mileage cars like that around. I'm sure the miles are legit. The car will probably drive good but the hoses and other rubber parts should be replaced just to be safe.

I actually saw this on Craigslist before ebay because its so close to me. I was seriously considering going to look at it just to see how it looked after sitting so long with such low mileage.

Early this year I bought a 2000 300 with 31k miles or so. Other than the timing belt because of age and the serpentine belt nothing has needed to be replaced- no leaks, noises, etc.

What says all the other stuff needs to be replaced?

All the rubber vacuum lines have tiny cracks that the naked eye can't see. Those are some of the first rubber items I replace. Pull one of your original rubber vac lines and fold it and look at it under light very close up and you may see tiny cracks. Air can escape through those cracks making your engine work harder than it has too. Just one example. Then you have the rubber motor mounts that are tasked to carrying the weight of the engine and dispersing the energy every time the engine shifts from throttle on/off. It's for the same reason why engine manufactures say to change your oil every 3 months OR 3k miles.

And I just noticed that you are in HI which is even more a reason to stat replacing all the rubber, because of all the salt in the air. Salt wrecks havoc on pretty much everything it comes in contact with auto related and more.
Thank you for the reply. I get the concept of changing aging rubber bits, but I don't get how it's likely most of the listed ones will need replacing. Motor mounts, plug wires, valve cover gaskets, fuel injector seals.... I only had the timing belt changed because Lexus recommends changing it after 6 years. The mechanic who replaced it said it still looked new- 10 years past its due date. The same with a timing belt I had changed on a 10 year old LS 430 with 25k miles on it.
