Hello Forum. After years of lurking and searching for a SC300 I finally purchased a 1999 today. I pick it up next week. The only thing that's wrong with the car is the radio doesn't work. This is perfect for me because I planned to install a Pioneer touchscreen unit anyway. I'm pretty good with electronics but is there anything I need that's specific to a SC? Any wiring harness adapter or installation kit? I suppose any of the Pioneer 2 din units will fit? Anyone have a model preference?

Go to http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ or http://www.crutchfield.com select your car you'll see all the options for harnesses, adapters etc.

I have a 2012 model installed in 2013..... Even went with a backup camera option.... Great units... Gives the interior a modern look......

Good luck with the install, as I'm betting its going to be a ***** finding that short that is causing the existing radio not to work. I'm betting somebody had an aftermarket unit in there already and took it out when they sold the car. Hopefully they didn't hack up the wiring harness too bad.

The seller says the radio powers up and the unit itself is bad. Either way it won't be an issue. I'm pretty good with wiring. I've installed a pioneer avic in my supra running the wires from scratch.
