SC 1st Gen vs SC 2nd Gen

^^ I see a number of RC's in Los Angeles but not as many as IS's (which doesn't surprise me). The RC200t is what I commonly encounter and more rarely the RC350 or an RC-F. It's still very early in that model's introduction but I completely agree about its total lack of transmission options and given that the automatics in them aren't always snappy outside of the RC-F model. That and the *base* 200t model has a curb weight of over 3,800lbs. The loaded RC-F model is over 4,000lbs. Comparatively the SC's ranged from 3,500 lbs in the lightest models to 3,655 lbs for the last year SC400's. Maybe they feel nice to drive but that's quite hefty. They are new and look cool but even those aren't a true replacement for the Z30 SC300, SC400 and Soarer.
The SC430 is different from both the earlier SC's and RC's combined in both driving character and visual appeal.

I like the SC430 a lot. It's extremely nice on the inside and the exterior can look good once the car is modded. I prefer the first generation SC's exterior but the SC430 is built way better on the inside.
I considered getting an SC430 before I bought my LS. I would still buy one if it were cheap enough.

i drive through LA/OC/IE its very rare i see a tastefully model SC300/400.
i see alot of very sad exhausted rusted/neglected SC300/400's around the SCV.
i always see OLD people (look 45+) driving mint condition SC430's. but its maybe 1 every 3-5 days.
RC i see EVERYWHERE, even the ugly orange ones.
SC430 is a great example where they went "more luxury/sports car" than the original platform of the SC300/400 where it we love to see it be a racing/sports car.
but then again i could just be high out of my mind.
