So I am trying to gather information for the install on my 97 but as many times as I have read the diy all I really understand is the wiring however there is no solid answer about the linkage rod other than maybe it needs trimmed 1 inch but what I am wondering is if I have the linkage from the donor car (2000) sc300 and it is going in a 97 sc400 can I use the complete linkage from that car?

Is big as the internet is I have never heard from anyone who has done this 1st hand so any insight is appreciated.

If you have the one from the 2000 it may work, otherwise taking an inch out of the old one is no big deal. Do a search on my post, I installed mine and did all the wiring. I think I listed all the colors.

put the 2 beside each other if one is not shorter just cut the inch out... hell i did it and welded the rods back... and i dont even weld to speak of... had a big bulged that held up no problem

Ok sounds like a solid plan I will do that and report my findings for future reference for others.

i replaced the linkage with new linkage from Lexus that was for a 1998 sc300
