Default 98 SC400 seats in a 92 SC400...

Hi everyone,
I'm about to get a set of 98 SC400 front seats for my 92 SC400 and i want to know if they are plug and play. Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

the 98 passenger seat has lumber as the 92 doesnt.

OP - to answer your question.... yes they are plug and play . The newer ones have more motors and functions on the seats but will work.

You need to consider this though if you want your MEMORY FUNCTION TO WORK . Do you have a manual or auto transmission equipped car ? If you have an auto , you can use the seat ECUs of the 1998 or your 1992 .. both will work . If you have an manual , you either use the seat ECUs of your 1992 or You CAN STILL USE THE SEAT ECUs of the 1998 auto car. You just need to intercept a wire from the seat harness and ground it.

The motors of the seat that control different functions (1992 have less , later model has more ) are not controlled by the seat ECUs. The switch on the side of the seats is what activates the different motors that enable the seat movements. So all those will work regardless of car's and seat's year model.
