Default Can You Bypass Heater Core

Might have read my terrible cabin smell thread. Think my culprit is the heater core. Smell is coolant vapor, probably leaking thru the heater core and front vents. Closed all of the vents manually minus the foot well ones. Smell still comes into the cabin and makes me sick. Don't drive this car in winter, and there is no AC. Any harm in bypassing the heater core all together? Think I found some threads on how to bypass the valve. Will this stop coolant from entering the heater core in my cabin? Best case is this fixes my smell issue and I can continue driving this car for a few months in the early summer. Worst case is it doesn't fix anything and back to square one with maple syrup as a permanent air freshener. Seriously, this is the last straw. Know my complaints seem habitual, but this is it. Can't drive around in a car that's slowly killing me with ethylene glycol in my lungs.

Yes I have done it....Very easy to do....

No coolant will enter the heater core at all...i.e you will not have any heat...

Here you go....route from back of head to coolant pipe coming from waterpump
