Default cleaned up the stock cd changer wiring now cluster doesn't light up

As the title says, I got rid of the ten feet of extra wiring to the trunk (where I will ultimately put a battery) and the stereo works as usual but in farting around in the dash i guess I messed something up because while the warning lights, coolant temp, and i think fuel gauge work the tach, clock, and background lighting doesn't.

I checked the fuse to the cluster and its good.

Any ideas?
