The big deal is "child" Toyota must bow down to "elder" Lexus. Don't you know there's a hierarchy at play here?

I've got to tell you, installed a repaired ECU yesterday and my SC300 5Spd is a heck of a lot faster. Gained 10+ hp easily.

I am affected by the same disease of the old SC boat syndrome that I couldn't stand, so I got an IS350.

TO be fair, the SC400 may be slow on the low end but get up to 100+MPH and it can spank the matrix easy mode.

Top Speed of the SC400 is 149 MPH. Matrix can't make it to 120MPH.

The SC4 does eat up alot of cars on the top end.. partly cause it doesn't have to shift anymore

No SC400 should be beat by a matrix. you should apologize to the SC400 knowing full well it needs 2 whole seconds to downshift and next time punch it before the matrix. In fact I would just punch it any time you are anywhere near a matrix.

But if they punch it first... just pretend you weren't going to race and turn or something

That's so sad but true. I hated the automatic that my SC originally came with. It's not horrible. It was smooth, reliable. Great for daily driving if you're an old and boring adult. But for any kind of these street race attempts you want something else in there.

I imagine the later model 98+ vvti motors that came with the 5spd auto were a vast improvement?

I have a 03 GS430 since 2010 and first thing I did was install a blitz electronic controller in it. The electronic throttle system is laggy on it, but with the different settings of this controller it gives alot of options. Works phenomenally.

they probably are but I haven't driven one of those to say for sure, I know driving the 4 speed and 5 speed versions of the 2uz trucks is a night and day difference.
in my GX with the 5 speed I can actually break my larger a/t tires loose on a turn when it downshifts.. the gearing is better spaced and when you downshift it seems to get into gear right away.
