Lady backed in to my SC, left a note, though, so that's good.
At least it's just on the plastic bumper, no metal seems to have been hit. The tail light has some scuffs on the bottom, though.
her insurance has been decent to deal with... so far.

I was thinking about that. If it doesn't leave too noticeable of ripples, I just might. Still probably have to replace the foam, but we'll see if anything else is bent once it's off.

Sounds nice, but I'm cool with the car as stock. As long as it gets put back decent, any left over would probably go to the "general fund." As it was all I really needed done on the car was fixing the 3rd brake light ($250 light? screw that, I'll pick up a cheap 12v LED strip and silicone it in there).

As long as it isn't cracked, use a heat gun on it when you.push it back out and you have any ripples in it either. If paints not broke then just buff it out. It looks like she just missed the inner support bar.

There are bumper repair shops too and since there is no rip, I think they will do a fine repair. We have another member who got hit but the offender just ran away.

I had a similar situation happen to my car about 5 years ago. The insurance company tried to replace my bumper with a reconditioned bumper which is basically a damaged bumper like yours that has already been fixed and reinforced. I refused to accept that and told them to buy a new oem bumper. It was about $1,200 to $1,400 for the new bumper and paint.

Body shop (finally) looked at it for the estimate today. While it's hard to be 100% sure without taking it off, from looking and feeling behind the bumper it looks like it hit right in the void between the body, bumper support beam, and foam. No damage to anything other than the bumper. No structural damage to the tail light, just scuffs.
While all this reduces the payment, it helps the possibility that I'll be able to either just pop it out, or if that fails find a replacement bumper for cheap. Waiting for them to run the numbers to see what it should be.
The guys were cool, though. First guy came out to take a look, then another guy came out and said "I saw there was a 400 on the schedule, I had to come take a look."

heat it up with a heat gun and push it out. same thing happened to my girlfriend's dad's van and we just heated up the bumper and pushed it out, wear a thick glove and don't heat it up too much.
