I looked all around. I really wanted a SC. All the ones i checked out were straight trash. I got a good deal on a VW GTI and i picked it up. I had a appointment to tune the GTI but the tuner was being weird with me. Turns out his 10 year old laptop took a dump and he kept coming up with excuses. So that same day kinda irritated i decided to seach craigslist for a sc300. BAM blown motor trashed interior but the body was straight all original panels with Vins and paint. posted for 1200. I instantly went to check it out. It was parked in front of his dads house and lets just say there was no relationship there. I offered 600 he tried to get his 1000. His dad comes out saying give me 300 its yours with allllll the extra parts. At the moment i knew it was meant to be. This was 3 years ago and Its almost done!!!

Mine found me, then kept begging me to buy it & keep it out of the ghetto. It was at a car flipper lot that I kept driving by but the price was to high , then one of the employees put the wrong price on it, he was supposed to put it on the es, so I pulled right in & bought it. The guy honered the price but he wasn't to happy with his employee tho. That day it was worth being late to work.

Ebay auction back in 2011. Found my minty fresh, 100% stock, 1 old man owner, 1992 SC300, factory 5 speed, pearl white/light tan leather, just really amazing stock, like new condition. Paid $8000, car had 60k miles on it, always garaged, never driven in winter, total time capsule. Bought it in New Jersey, drove it home to Tennessee.

Its been an awesome car to own, now it has 94,000 miles on it. Still looks amazing, interior is still mint, it feels nice having a stock 5 speed car that hasn't been ****ed around with or wrecked, that is still the same as it came from the factory.

Found mine while on vacation down in south Fl about 3 years ago. Picked it up on the way home. Started modding right away. I had a s14 with a 2jzgte r154 and hated the trans. When the clutch went out it was the perfect reason to part the s14 and start my search for an sc300 and a v160. Found the trans on eBay before I got the car. Yes the trans cost more than the car. This build was a lot easier than the 240sx. The car handles the power and weight great. Going next week down to realstreet performance for a tune now that it has an aem v2.

Both of mine I found on craigslist. Both manuals. One I paid too much by giving $1,800 for it, interior was pretty ragged but I was planning to strip it anyway. Was looking for a parts car, found the second one with a bad 2nd gear according to the owner. Poor mouthed him down to $1,000. Car was in better shape than I originally thought so I kept it for a daily driver and had it painted. Both are sweet for what I am using them for, the black one is a full race car now and the garnet pearl one is still getting me to work and back with no 2nd gear.

Edit: Since posting this, I have bought 2 more autos. The blue 93 I robbed a few parts off, then pulled the engine for an engine build for the race car. The white 96 is at the paint shop.

Worked at Lexus for over a year and fell in love with the coupe styling. Ended up buying a coworkers SC300 for next to nothing. Been fixing it up since then.

Bought it off the Lexus dealership lot in July of 1992......

The SC400s were out in late '91 but I waited for the SC300.....

Passed around the family and when I got it back in 2011 looked around CL and the 1st gen SC threads and got inspired to start the mods in early 2013.

Three years later and a lot of investment we will have this car forever.....(at least I will - wife is not that sentimental towards this car).....

Auto trader ad by used car dealer.

I was looking for something RWD, preferably V8. I had a 91 Firebird before, but wanted something a bit less ostentatious. Was looking at GTO's, but decent ones were more than I wanted to spend (OK, more than I could really justify to the wife) and ones closer to what I was looking to spend were either beat or high miles; often both. So I just put in auto trader: RWD, V8, and up came the SC400. Did some research and found a few local ones. We were going to be trading in one car that wasn't quite doing it for the family any more and buying 2 vehicles: one for me and a family car with 3 rows of seats. Found a dealer with a couple Volvo XC90's and a '98 SC400. SC400 had 120k miles, but looked perfect.

Went to the dealership, drove both. Volvo was slower than I would have wanted (turbo 5), but wife was perfectly happy with it. SC400 was great, even had the Lexus shop manuals in the trunk. Bought both for $17k (got just over $7,500 for our Honda Fit as a trade in.)

Shortly after I realized that the factory sub didn't work with the aftermarket deck, fixed that as noted in other threads, here. Replaced the starter, also noted in other threads, plus battery terminals. At this point it needs a new 3rd brake light, rotors turned (warped), and driver's seat rear elevator motor (stuck up; maybe it's the switch or wiring, I haven't torn it apart.) Well, those and someone backed in to it, so that'll be fixed by their insurance soon; there's a thread about it.

I've always wanted one since the 90's when I was watching a Keith Murray video and he was rapping on top of one. I thought and still think that it's one of the "sickest" cars ever made. I found mine on craigslist as well from a local dealership in Augusta,GA called Auto Boutique, however I caught the ****ty end of the deal and have been working on it since...lol. I'll get it right soon...YOU CAN BET ON THAT!!! Peace...

I bought mine from an old lady who had it since 1996. I really wanted one as a teenager after seeing my friend get a mint condition Garnet Pearl 92 SC300 as his first car in high school. I couldn't believe a car as old as we were could look so nice. I had to have one after that. Around that time another friend drove his dad's mint condition SC to school and my track coach had a clean SC400. I had never seen one until then.

I then found Club Lexus and saw all of the modded SC's. There were so many different styles of how people modded these cars. After I found Club Lexus, I no longer wanted a Corvette, BMW, Supra, NSX, or WrX anymore. Just a really clean SC.

Looking back on it now, I should have saved for the Supra and then got an SC since the Supra wasn't as expensive back then. On the other hand, SC's are rare around here and rarely in good shape these days.
